OUR PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGIES FOR AGRIVOLTAICS

Horizonfirm, through its HorizonFarm division, has developed a series of proprietary agrivoltaic systems that represent the forefront of integration between solar energy production and agricultural activities.

Our patented systems — VERTIGO, V-VERTIGO, and BUTTERFLY — are designed to maximize energy production while maintaining ample availability of agricultural land and optimal conditions for crops.

+25%

Increased generation capacity with bifacial modules

85%

Bifaciality achieved by commercial modules

1164KW

Installable power per hectare with the BUTTERFLY system

VERTIGO Energy efficiency and crop protection

An innovative system of bifacial photovoltaic panels arranged vertically, designed to maximize energy production without compromising the underlying crops. Thanks to an intelligent tilting mechanism, the panels dynamically adjust their orientation throughout the day, ensuring superior energy efficiency and optimal integration with agricultural activities.

Competitive productivity

Values comparable to standard tracking systems.

Effective agricultural management

Allows diversified and productive agricultural activities.

How it works

The Vertigo system uses advanced technology that allows the panels to move dynamically following the sun’s path: in the morning, the panels are oriented toward the EAST to capture sunlight during the early hours of the day, while in the afternoon they tilt toward the WEST, maximizing solar absorption until sunset. This intelligent rotation optimizes irradiation on both faces of the bifacial panels, improving overall energy yield. Despite the slight energy consumption required for the movement, the gain in electrical production is significant. The vertical arrangement of the panels also allows a perfect balance between occupied space and productivity, enabling ideal coexistence between energy production and the underlying agricultural crops.

V-VERTIGO
Energy optimized thanks to reflections

A novel V-shaped configuration that leverages mutual reflections between photovoltaic modules to increase energy capture.

Optimized Insights

Harness the phenomenon of reflection between the module faces

Optimized Pitch

Configuration that allows installing 757 kW per hectare with an 8-meter pitch

How it works

The panels are positioned to maximize the effect of light on both surfaces, drawing inspiration from the natural arrangement of leaves to optimize photosynthesis. This technology improves energy efficiency by reducing losses due to the sun's angle of incidence, offering an advanced alternative for high-performance agrivoltaic systems.

BUTTERFLY
Maximum integration between energy and agriculture

BUTTERFLY represents the natural evolution of the V-VERTIGO system, implementing "Natural Backtracking" to significantly reduce the pitch between trackers, thus avoiding mutual shading.

Pitch Reduction

Pitch reduced to just 5 meters compared to V-VERTIGO's 8.6 meters

Maximum Agricultural Compatibility

Maximize Irradiation Conditions While Minimizing Shading

How it works

The most advanced evolution of agrivoltaics, thanks to a system of independent rows that dynamically adapt to the sun's position. In the morning and at sunset, the panels tilt to best capture sunlight, while during central hours they adjust to minimize shading. This technology pushes the concept of backtracking to its maximum, optimizing module arrangement even in confined spaces. Although still under development, Butterfly promises to revolutionize agrivoltaics, increasing energy productivity and improving compatibility with crops.
